First We Move
There is nothing worse than coming from a busy, stressful environment and trying to force yourself into a quiet 'seated meditation'.
It's not natural! We were not meant to be sedentary for the majority of our day.
So, we prepare you with movement.
The first part of the workshop involves a 30 minute slow flow yoga sequence. This warms us up physically and energetically for a still meditation practice.
Then We Meditate
There are many forms of meditation practice. Zen, mindfulness, mantra, breathing, chanting, or even running or hiking for some people! We know that meditation works. Not only from the studies that are being released daily (health and emotional benefits measured and reported on!) but from the simple fact that once you connect, you will see the benefits for yourself. The Buddhists have been practicing mindfulness for over 2,000 years.... The second part of the workshop involves 30-60 minutes of exploring 2-3 guided meditations as a group.
Then We Reflect
There is a good chance that you will cultivate clarity of thought during and after this practice. So, the third part of the workshop involves time and space for personal reflection. You'll have time to note down anything you want to make sure you don't forget.
Depending on the group's wishes, there may also be time for sharing and discussion with your felllow meditators. Share what worked, what didn't, what you experienced, or didn't. It can be amazing to hear the differences in specific meditations, but feel the commonality at the same time. (all optional of course!)
"I have tried on many previous occasions to meditate but have never found something I could stick with. In her workshop Kathy introduces a wide range of meditation options and techniques, allowing participants to find the unique combinations that feel right for them. It was a very informative, enjoyable and impactful 2 hours – and Kathy is really lovely!"
